Roof and doors replaced on popular Stone Memorial Lodge
A new steel roof has been installed on the Stone Memorial Lodge and it looks great. With grants from the Haman and Moomaw Foundations, plus donations from many of our members who purchased “bundles of shingles”, the repairs are complete and we are paying cash for this work! A big “thank you“ to the many folks who gave so generously to this project.
The Stone Memorial Lodge was built in 1978 with funds donated by the Stone Family of Zoarville. Because this building has been the site of many events for Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and local groups, we received much support for this project. Our camp usage has steadily increased and many more outside groups are using our facilities- especially this building.
We are also pleased to report that the Camp Tuscazoar Foundation has received grant monies from the Tuscarawas Community Foundation and the Marsh Foundation to replace windows and doors at the Stone Lodge. This work has also been completed and we look forward to a warmer lodge this winter. We are grateful to these organizations for helping us to “keep the spirit burning”!
Here are a few photos of the progress:
