Dover Dam Weekend

Featuring Fire Safety Merit Badge

Be Prepared: a simple, concise, all-inclusive motto. Scout leaders put scouts in a position to learn life skills. They help them…be prepared. Another winter of the usual house fires with injury and death. Another year of record wildfires destroying nature and spreading to populated areas. Everyday calamities at home and on the road require assistance to save life and limb. We depend on First Responders. Scouting does its part to educate First Preparers to help reduce the load of those First Responders.

Fire Safety MB

The 2024 Dover Dam Weekend on May 3-5 is a full throttle opportunity for scouts to be better prepared. Scouts can earn Fire Safety Merit Badge. Cubs and Webelos can accomplish many of the fire safety requirements for their assorted badges.

May 3-5, 2024

They will gain valuable skills, and the critical importance of those skills, learning to do the right things in the first place, so that fire doesn’t become a problem. Demonstrations and firsthand activities will cover a multitude of fire safety skills. There will also be fire trucks and the people who are our community fire safety experts, helping to save lives and property.

And since this is Dover Dam Weekend, you will also have the opportunity to visit Dover Dam, and depending upon their status, the chance to go inside the dam! Throw in a commemorative patch, a great dinner and an old-fashioned campfire program and it makes for one awesome weekend.

The cost is $30 per person, adult or scout, which covers all program activities, the event patch, the Dover Dam tour, Saturday dinner, the skull session, and campfire program, with fun surprises along the way.

Pre-registration is required for both camping and the program!
